Hi Parents,

We had a great week learning about the letter Oo. Here is a snapshot…

On Monday our theme was ‘Observing the Outdoors.’ In the morning we read the books ‘This is Owl’ and ‘Pippa the Pumpkin Fairy.’ For centers the kids colored and cut out fall objects, they put together fall themed letter and number puzzles, they circled which is different in a quick kit and colored, and they matched upper and lowercase letters. (squirls to acorns) For art, the kids used cotton balls to paint a fall tree.

On Tuesday our theme was ‘Owls and Opposites.’ In the morning before lunch, the kids worked on a listening activity. I gave instructions and they had to color certain objects in the picture, put an X through, etc. We will do this same activity in the spring and see if they improve. After lunch and recess, for centers, the kids counted objects and colored the number, they worked on cutting and gluing their O page, they used circle magnets on an owl, and they made an owl with dot markers and colored pencils. These are hanging in our hallway. We ended the day by finishing the owls from centers and cutting and gluing an owl by following directions.

On Wednesday we had our harvest party. I hope the kids had a blast; it was so fun to see all of them in their costumes!

Have a wonderful fall break and I’ll see everyone next week starting a new month and new letters and numbers. Our first letter is Nn. Looking forward to it.

Take Care,

Missy
