This week we focused on the letter Bb.
On Tuesday, we focused on the theme of bugs. For morning centers, we made “bugs” to match the teen number on the bug themed card, did our Bb says /b/ page, match letter sound to the bug themed ABCs, and counted bugs in our bug coloring book. For afternoon centers, we traced/wrote the letter Bb, put together bug puzzles by putting in order teen numbers, made our ABCs with pop-its, and patterned with linking chains. At the end of the day, we played ABC and number bingo. Today, we also had our graduation pictures taken.
On Wednesday, we focused on the theme of the book, Brown Bear, Brown Bear. For morning centers, we practiced adding with Brown Bear cards, did a Brown Bear cut and paste, did a Brown Bear creative writing, and laced with Brown Bear lacing cards. In the afternoon, we had specials with all four all-day teachers. At the end of the day, we cut out our marble painting bunny that we made in art last week.
On Thursday, we focused on the theme of butterflies. For morning art, we made a “surprise” and painted a butterfly by putting paint on the one side and then folding the paper and rubbing the paint to the other side. For afternoon centers, we counted butterflies with counting mats, did a life cycle of the butterfly sequencing page, matched beginning sounds with a butterfly theme and worked on butterfly symmetry mats. At the end of the day, we did a butterfly directed drawing.
Since it was so nice this week, we got to play outside some for recess and big room. We had a great time!!!!!
