This week we focused on the letter Yy.

On Tuesday, we focused on the theme of yarn. For morning centers, we made Yys out of tanagram shapes, cut out a Y and hole punched holes in it to lace, traced/wrote the letter Yy, and colored a Yy is for Yacht coloring page. For afternoon centers, we did our the Yy says /y/ page, laced the letter Y with yarn, found and colored the pictures that begin with the letter Y, and laced a paper plate by counting in order. At the end of the day, we played ABC bingo.

On Wednesday, we focused on the theme of yellow. For morning centers, we counted the number of dots and wrote the number, cut and pasted a “Y is for Yellow” page, made our ABCs with geoboards, and made our number out of snap cubes. In The afternoon, we had specials with all four all-day teachers. At the end of the day, we did our April monthly coloring page.

On Thursday, we focused on the theme of Easter. For morning art, we painted a bunny cut out with marbles and pastels colors. For afternoon centers, we rolled a die and built a bunny, played with all sorts of magnets, weaved pipe cleaners in and out of cookie cooling racks, and matched our ABCs with and Easter theme. At the end of the day, we had fun at our Easter party. We had a snack, played with the parachute and played games with easter eggs.

Until next week,
