This week we focused on the letter Bb. We talked about the sound the letter Bb makes and words that start with the letter Bb. We came up with bear, bugs, balloon, butterflies, and bunny.

On Tuesday, we focused on the theme of bugs. For morning centers, we played a catching bugs number game, did the Bb says /b/ page, matched beginning letter sounds with a caterpillar theme, and made a “surprise” for King & Queen Day. For afternoon centers, we traced/wrote the letter Bb, put together bug puzzles that were numbered 1-10, made ABCs with pop-its, and put together linking chains with linking chain cards. We also had our graduations pictures. At the end of the day, we went outside to look for bugs!!!! We also read books on bugs.

On Wednesday, we focused on the theme of Brown Bear, Brown Bear. For morning centers, we did a Brown Bear animal count, did a Brown Bear cut and paste sequencing page, did a Brown Bear creative writing, and laced with Brown Bear cards. In the afternoon, we had specials with all four all-day teachers. At the end of the day, we made another “surprise” for King & Queen Day. We also read the book Brown Bear, Brown Bear.

On Thursday, we focused on the theme of butterflies. For morning art, we made a “surprise” for King & Queen Day. For afternoon centers, we counted butterflies with counting mats, did a life cycle of a butterfly sequencing page, matched ABC beginning sounds with a butterfly theme, and worked on symmetry with butterflies and shapes. At the end of the day, we did a butterfly directed drawing. We also read books on butterflies.
