This week we celebrated Spring and Earth Day. Tuesday we started the day reading books with friends. In centers, we colored a spring scene, did a flower letter match, counted flower petals, and measured with blocks. For art, we made our own Earth by cutting, gluing, and drawing. We also did a spring color by letter. We ended the day sharing our Flat Stanley’s and what we did over Spring Break.
Wednesday we started the day coloring a reduce reuse recycle page. In circle time, we talked about what is good and bad for the Earth. In centers, we did q-tip painting, an alphabet pick up game, played with pattern blocks, and played in a sensory bin. Then we got to do our Enviromobile in school field trip. They read us a story and talked about recycling and not littering. We made litter police badges and played a litter litter bug game. At the end of the day, we played with play-doh and counted objects to practice writing our numbers.
Thursday was more Earth Day celebration. We started the day playing with toys with friends. In morning centers, we wrote on the big board, did an Earth Day color by letter, played a shape sorting game, and played ISPY Earth Day. In afternoon centers, we played with Geo boards, did a color by symbol, painted dot numbers, and played with play-doh. At the end of the day we caught up on our make up work and played with our friends.
See you next week for B week, bugs, bears, and butterflies!
