Hi Parents,
We had such a fun week learning about the letter Kk. Here is a snapshot…
On Tuesday we had King and Queen day. My favorite event! Thank you to everyone that came, I hope you enjoyed the singing and slide show.
On Wednesday our theme was ‘King.’ In the morning we gathered all 5 classes to practice all of the songs they have learned in specials. We can’t wait for you to see the kids perform them at graduation! In the afternoon, I started doing the egg hunts for the class. We also played a game with eggs so the kids could win them. Most of the eggs (but not all) had a shape on them, their name, or even their number. They had to find the correct egg when looking! They also cut out a Q and made a queen with it. We ended the day outside! The weather was amazing.
On Thursday our theme was ‘Kite.’ In morning centers, the kids clipped clothes pins on a kite with a number on it, they cut and glued a kite, they worked on their K sheet, and they wrote their name and drew a flower. In the afternoon, we did our final egg hunt and then rotated through some fun centers. The kids used dot markers on a kite, they played with sand and containers, and they also scooped beads in to bottles with funnels. During big room time, the kids went outside and flew ‘kites.’ (bags with string on them) They loved it! We ended the day by playing with friends that will go to the same school next year. We will do this until the end of the year so the kids all have familiar faces next year at their new schools.
Next week we will talk about the letter Yy. Our last letter before review! Looking forward to it.
Take Care,
Missy
