Hi Parents,

We had a fun week learning about the letter Bb. Here’s a snap shot…

On Tuesday our theme was ‘Bugs.’ In morning centers the kids used a butterfly and erasers for adding, they cut and glued to finish a pattern, they practiced writing the letter Bb, and they sorted colored bugs with tweezers. In afternoon centers, the kids found little pictures in rice bins and clipped them on a clip, they cut out squares and rectangles and sorted them, and they played with bugs in kinetic sand. They also colored a bee and cut it out. These turned out cute and are hanging on our classroom wall! We ended the day playing with toys in the big room with Mrs. Brandi’s class.

On Wednesday our theme was ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear.’ In the morning the kids rotated through specials learning sign language, Spanish, science, and zoo phonics. In afternoon centers, the kids worked on a few brown bear themed activities like lacing cards, and they started writing/coloring a special page that you will get on king and queen day. After centers, we had art and the kids sponge painted a butterfly. When they dry, I’ll take the butterfly off the page and fold it and glue it to make it look like it’s flying off the page. We ended the day by finishing some of our work from earlier centers.

On Thursday our theme was ‘Butterflies.’ In morning centers, the kids cut and glued pieces to make a butterfly, they cut and glued their B page, and they stacked and counted cups. In afternoon centers, the kids colored shapes on a butterfly, they colored a butterfly that will be glued on a clothes pin to make it look like it’s flying, and they colored a monarch butterfly with dry eraser markers in a quick kit. We ended the day by finishing up some coloring and playing with toys.

Next week we will talk about the letter Qq. Looking forward to it!

Take Care,

Missy
