Hi Parents,

We had a fun week learning about the letter B. Here is a snapshot…

On Tuesday our theme was ‘Bugs.’ In morning centers, the kids measured bugs with unifix cubes, they cut and glued bugs to finish the pattern, and they sorted colorful bugs by color with tweezers. Because we had graduation pictures during morning centers, we finished those centers up right after lunch. We also did an activity called ‘I am, who has…’ The kids each got a card with a picture and had to find what they matched with. For example, the macaroni had to find the cheese, the peanut butter had to find the jam, etc. It’s always a fun activity. We ended the day with painting a special project for you guys, which you will get on King and Queen day.

On Wednesday our theme was ‘Brown Bear Brown Bear.’ In morning centers, the kids played a math board game with counting, they laced cards with all of the animals from the brown bear book, and they worked on a creative writing project writing and drawing what they ‘saw’ just like the book. In the afternoon the kids rotated through specials learning Spanish, science/math, sign language and zoo phonics. We ended the day by cutting squares and triangles and also painting some more of our picture that we started Monday.

On Thursday our theme was ‘Butterflies.’ In morning centers, the kids worked on a butterfly color by shape, they followed directions and drew their own butterfly, and they worked on a few other things for king and queen day! In afternoon centers the kids played with fidgets, they used bottles with funnels and beads, and they cut out and colored their flapping butterfly that they brought home. These turned out so cool! We ended the day with art. The kids painted a butterfly with Q-Tip’s. They turned out really cute and will come home next week.

Next week we will talk about the letter Q. Looking forward to it!

Take Care,

Missy
