This week we focused on the letter Cc. We talked about the sound the letter Cc makes and words that begin with the letter Cc. We came up with cookie, Christmas, cloud, candy, candy canes and cupcake.

We have also been very busy little elves make surprises for all of you. That’s why the summary of our day seems so little.

On Tuesday, we focused on the theme of the book If You Give a Mouse a Cookie… As start-up, we colored a color-by-number page of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie… For morning centers, we matched numbers with one-to-one correspondence cookie theme, practiced tracing/writing the letter Cc, matched the beginning sounds with the correct letter, and worked on cookie themed clip cards. In the afternoon, we worked on our “surprises”. At the end of the day, we had play practice and then got to munch on cookies!!!! Yum!!!!

On Wednesday, we focused on the theme of clouds. For start-up, we colored our Cc page. For morning centers, we made our numbers with pop-its, played with kinetic sand and Christmas cookie cutters, did a cloud creative writing, and did our Cc says/c/page. In the afternoon, we had another play practice. Then, we worked on some more “surprises”.

On Thursday, we focused on the theme of candy canes. For start-up, we played with manipulatives while we waited for all of friends to get there. For morning centers, we made our numbers with snap cubes, made a bead candy cane ornament, used candy canes to write our letters in salt rays, and colored a Christmas coloring page. For afternoon art, we made a fingerprint candy cane. At the end of the day, we played with all four all-day classes in the big room. We had a lot of fun!!!

Until next week,

Mrs. Brandi
