Hi Parents,

We had a great week with the letter C! Here’s a snapshot…

On Tuesday our theme was Clouds. In morning centers, the kids counted rain drops using their fingerprints under a cloud with a number, they wrote about what they could see in the clouds, and they glued ‘clouds’ (cotton balls) on to shapes. In afternoon centers the kids built with LEGO’s, made numbers with pop-its, and ‘fed’ a rain cloud rain drops with pictures on them. They had to tell me what the beginning sound of the word was first and then they could ‘feed the cloud.’ We ended the day by painting the background of something very special that will be coming home next week!

On Wednesday our theme was If You Give A Mouse A Cookie. Our morning center time was spent practicing for our Christmas play. In afternoon centers, the kids matched beginning sound cookies in a cookie jar, they cut and glued to finish the pattern with the mouse from our story, and they completed a color by letter of the mouse from our story. We ended our day by decorating and eating sugar cookies and finishing our December name writing/drawing.

On Thursday our theme was Candy Cane Kindness. In morning centers, the kids did some graphing with Christmas erasers, they made candy canes with beads on a pipe cleaner, and they made the stripes on a candy cane with paper clips. In afternoon centers the kids worked on a Christmas themed spin and cover, they stacked red and white cups like a candy cane, and they finished a Christmas tree pin poke. We ended our day with art. The kids decorated the bags that all of their Christmas presents for you will be coming home in next week.

1 more week until Christmas break!

***Don’t forget to wear your ugly sweaters on Tuesday!

Take Care,
