Hi Parents,
We had a wonderful week learning about the letter Jj. Here is a snapshot…
On Tuesday our theme was ‘Jellybeans.’ In morning centers the kids counted jelly beans in to ‘jars,’ they colored, cut, and glued jellybeans, and they practiced writing the letter J. They also worked on a very special Christmas present for you that will be coming home in 2 weeks. In afternoon centers the kids wrote their names and drew a Christmas tree, they finished their cutting and gluing from morning centers, and they put jellybeans on the letter J. We ended the day with toys and finishing centers. We also started practicing for our Christmas play, we are so excited for you to see it!
On Wednesday our theme was ‘Jumping for Jesus.’ In morning centers the kids cut and glued their J page, they worked on a J color by letter, and they used kinetic sand on a mat with Jesus in the manger. In afternoon centers the kids made a jumping J with shoes, they finished their color by letter from earlier, and they worked on more Christmas gifts for you. We ended the day by finishing centers and working on those gifts again.
On Thursday our theme was ‘Jingle bells.’ In morning centers the kids counted bells on to ‘Christmas trees’ (magna tiles), they cut and glued Christmas patterns, and they colored and cut out either a Christmas tree or a gingerbread man. In afternoon centers the kids used jingle bells with magnet wands, they made an ornament, and they started working on a Christmas card. We ended the day by finishing centers and playing with toys.
We will continue practicing our Christmas play and working on those special gifts for you next week! We will also learn about the letter Cc. Looking forward to it!
