This week we focused on the letter Jj. We talked about the sound the letter Jj makes and words that begin with the letter Jj. We came up with jaguar, jellybeans, jump, jingle bells, and Jesus.

On Tuesday, we focused on the theme of jellybeans. For start-up, we did a Jj is for jellybeans coloring page. For morning centers, we graphed with jellybeans, did a following directions jellybean jar page, traced/wrote the letter Jj, and worked on a jellybean themed clip cards where we counted the number of jellybeans and clipped a clothespin on the correct number. For afternoon centers, we found the letter Jj, colored a jellybean jar page, did a letter Jj review page, and measured with jellybeans. Also, in the morning we were greeted by the St. John canine officer and his dog, Storm. We learned a lot about what a K9 officer and his dog does. We had a great visit!!!

On Wednesday, we focused on the theme of “Jumping with Jesus”. For start-up, we colored a Jj is for Jesus coloring page. For morning centers, we sorted baby Jesus from smallest to largest (for our evaluations), worked on a nativity sticker scene, did a gift for Jesus creative writing, and worked on nativity themed pattern blocks. In the afternoon, we all met with the four all-day teachers for specials. At the end of the day, we colored a color by number nativity page.

On Thursday, we focused on the theme of jingle bells. For start-up, we found our letter Jj on a Jj is for Jellyfish worksheet. For morning art, we worked on “surprises” for you. For afternoon centers, we made ten frames with jingle bells, did the Jj says/j/ cutting page, worked on another “surprise”, and sorted with jingle bells. At the end of the day, we started our play practices with Mrs. Trish.
