Hi Parents,
We had a great week learning about the letter Cc. Here is a snap shot…
On Tuesday our theme was ‘Clouds.’ In morning centers, the kids cut and glued their letter C page, they ripped white paper to glue on shape clouds, they laced letters, and they made you a Christmas card. In the afternoon they cut and glued a Christmas shadows page before we had practice for the Christmas play. We ended the day finishing our cloud page from morning centers.
On Wednesday our theme was ‘Candy Canes.’ In morning centers, the kids made a candy cane with beads, they worked on graphing with Christmas erasers, they colored candy cane patterns, and they made stripes on a candy cane with paper clips. In the afternoon the kids worked on cutting and gluing a candy cane puzzle. These puzzles are always a great challenge for them, cutting and then gluing the pieces back in numerical order. We ended the day by playing a game of charades called ‘kids on stage.’ I gave them the choice of acting out an animal, an object, or an action. They ALL participated and did great both acting out the cards and guessing for others!
On Thursday our theme was ‘If you give a mouse a cookie.’ In morning centers, the kids worked on a mouse color by letter, they cut and glued a pattern sheet, and they made pictures with pattern blocks. In the afternoon the kids had a chance to eat cookies after reading the book ‘If you give a mouse a cookie.’ We didn’t have any milk, but the kids loved eating cookies at school! We had our last practice for the Christmas play and then ended the day with toys.
Next week will be all about Christmas. Looking forward to our Christmas play on Tuesday at 12:30!
Take Care,
Missy
