This week we learned about the letter C. Tuesday was “If you give a Mouse a Cookie” day. We started the day reading books with friends. In morning centers, we practiced writing upper and lowercase C, matched the correct cookie letters with the letter sounds they hear in the cookie jar, counted cookies, and did the ribbon size of me ornament. After lunch, we had Christmas play practice. Then we had story time and did our Rudolph hand prints. At the end of the day, we read “If you give a Mouse a Cookie” book and got to eat cookies!
Wednesday was Cloud day and we wore blue to school. We started the day playing with toys with friends. In morning centers, we wrote our letters to mom and dad, fed the cloud letters, counted cotton balls to make clouds, and decorated our Rudolph hand prints. In afternoon centers, we wrote shape names and made C puzzles, did our C cutting page, did raindrop counting, and made our wreath ornaments. At the end of the day, we had fun playing Candy land, Color sort, and the Caterpillar game.
Thursday was Candy Cane day. We started the day writing our names. In morning centers, we did our C letter review page, found all the C’s, made Christmas ten frames, did a candy cane stripes count, made patterns with candy canes, and made our candy cane ornaments. After lunch, we had Christmas play practice. Then we had story time and got to play in the big room with friends from other classes.
See you next week for our Christmas week. Tuesday is our Christmas play, Wednesday our gift exchange, and Thursday we will wear our Christmas pajamas and watch a movie before our break!
