This week we learned about the letter J. Tuesday we started the week with Jumping for Jesus. For startup, we practiced writing our names and numbers. In centers, we wrote about what birthday gift we would give to Jesus, wrote upper and lower case J, played with number pop its, and started our nativity ornament. Then we had lunch and recess. For art, we made our fingerprint frames and painted popsicle sticks. We also made our jumping J’s. These are hanging our our hallway. Then we had play practice with Mrs. Trish. At the end of the day, we played in the big room and played our riddle game.
Wednesday was Jellybean day. We started the day reading books with friends. In morning centers, we did our J cutting page, found J’s, graphed jellybeans, and decorated our ornament bags. Then we had lunch and recess. In afternoon centers, we wrote J’s, did a jellybean jar worksheet, measured jellybeans, and made wreath ornaments. Then we got to play in the big room and finish decorating our bags.
Thursday was Jingle bell day. We started the day playing with toys with friends. In centers, we did our J letter review page, colored an ornament, put jellybeans on J, and rolled dice and counted circles. Then we had lunch and recess. In the afternoon, we made snowman ornaments and had play practice. Then we got to play in the big room and started our wood ornaments. It was a fun filled week full of learning and making ornaments!
