Hi Parents,
We had a great week learning about the letter V v. Here is a snap shot…
On Tuesday we had our Valentine’s day party. The kids had a blast stacking cups, throwing balls into bozo buckets, and tossing rings on to a unicorn horn. They also loved eating a snack and making an art project.
On Wednesday our theme was ‘Veggies.’ In the morning the kids rotated through specials learning Spanish, sign language, zoo phonics and science with all of the teachers. In afternoon centers, the kids cut and glued veggies on to the letter V, they played with food/veggies, they put blue pom poms on to snowflake mats with tweezers, and they painted with veggies. I’ll send the veggie paintings home next week. We ended the day with art. The kids painted a heart with pom poms. I try to let them paint as much as possible, they love it!
On Thursday we celebrated Valentines day all day in the classroom. In morning centers, the kids flipped a number and marked it with heart erasers, they cut and glued their V page, they finished a heart shaped pin poke, and they used click blocks to make valentine themed shapes. In afternoon centers, the kids wrote about 3 things they love, they made shapes with popsicle sticks, and they put Valentine window clings on our huge white board and drew with markers. We ended the day with toys.
Next week we will talk about the letter Ll. Looking forward to it!
Take Care,
Missy
