This week we focused on the letter Vv. We talked about the sound the letter Vv makes and words that begin with the letter Vv. We came up with valentine, violin, vegetables, volcano, and vase.

On Tuesday, we focused on the theme of valentines. For morning centers, we did a heart subitizing worksheet, made our numbers with floam, wrote our Vv’s in different sizes, and found the missing number clip cards. For afternoon centers, we made valentine pictures out of snap cubes, traced/wrote the letter Vv, matched counting puzzles, and played a love monster roll and cover game. At the end of the day, we did a heart counting 1-20 cut and paste page. We also read books with a Valentine theme.

On Wednesday, we continued with the theme of valentine. Today we also had our Valentine’s Day party. For morning centers, we played a flip and find to 100 game, did our Vv says /v/ page, matched upper and lower-case ABCs with a valentine theme, and decorated our valentine bags for when we passed out our valentines. In the afternoon, we all took turns passing out our valentines to our classmates. After that, we had our Valentine’s Day party where we got to play games, eat a snack and made a craft. We had so much fun!!!!!!

On Thursday, we focused on the theme of veggies. For morning art, we practiced our cutting skills by making a “Vv is for Vase” project. For afternoon centers, we played a veggie I-spy game, worked on patterns with a veggie theme, did our February monthly writing/drawing page, and built with building sticks. At the end of the day, we played ABC bingo!!!!! We read the book Vegetables in Underwear.

Until next week,
