This week we focused on the letter Ll. We talked about the sound the letter Ll makes and words that begin with the letter Ll. We came up with lion, letter, love, ladybug, and lizard.
On Tuesday, we focused on the theme of love bugs. For morning centers, we practiced sequencing our numbers with a love bug theme, traced/wrote the letter Ll, matched the upper and lowercase ABCs with clip cards, and did a love bug push pin art. In the afternoon, we did out cut and paste the Ll says /l/ page. At the end of the day, we tried to finish our love bug push pin art. We read books with the letter Ll theme.
On Wednesday, we focused on the theme of love letters & lollipops. In the morning, we got to go through specials with the five all-day teachers. We then went into our classroom and started centers. For centers, we played a love monster roll and cover game, made our letters with playdoh and letter cookie cutters, matched letters with letter magnets, and wrote letters to the new students that are attending ABC in the fall. In the afternoon, we finished centers and played ABC bingo. We also got to play and work on our fine motor by playing with floam.
On Thursday, we focused on the theme of last names. For morning art, we made love bugs by spelling out our names. We then went into centers. For centers, we played a roll and cover subitizing game, rolled a die and matched it to the correct letter then traced the letter, traced/wrote our last names, and worked on beginning sounds. After lunch, we finished our centers. At the end of the day, we had choice time with our friends.
