This week we focused on the letter Ll. We talked about the sound the letter Ll makes and words that begin with the letter Ll. We came up with ladybug, lion, lollipop, lamb, love and llama.
On Tuesday, we focused on the theme of love bugs. For morning centers, we counted out “love bugs” and wrote the number, did s “love bug” sequencing letter activity, made “love bugs” out of our names, and did a “love bug” push pin art. For afternoon centers, finished “love bug” push pin art, sequenced numbers, traced/wrote the letter Ll, and finished “love bug” letter sequencing. At the end of the day, we finished our Eskimo art.
On Wednesday, we focused on the theme of last names. For morning centers, we played a Flip & Find number game, did our Ll says /l/ page, worked on our last name book, and worked together in a group to put together word puzzles. In the afternoon, we had specials with the four all-day teachers. At the end of the day, we finished up our last name books.
On Thursday, we focused on the theme of love letters. For morning art, we did a “We Love You to Pieces” project. For afternoon centers, we rolled a die and traced the letter that the die matched with, matched lowercase letter magnets with the uppercase letter, matched letters with a “love letter” theme, and used hole punches to punch out the matching lowercase letter to the uppercase letter. At the end of the day, we wrote letters to the new kids that will be attending ABC Christian next fall.
