This week we focused on the letter Ll. We talked about the sound the letter Ll makes and words that begin with the letter Ll. We came up with lion, love, love bug, llama, lollipop, and letters.
On Tuesday, we focused on the theme of “love bugs”. For start-up, we colored a love bug. For morning centers, we did a love bug adding activity/counted love bugs, cut and pasted a love bug ABC sequencing page, made a love bug using our names, and did a love bug push pin art. For afternoon centers, we finished our love bug push pin art, played tic-tac-toe with love bugs, did a love bug numbers 0-20 activity, and traced/wrote the letter Ll. At the end of the day, we played ABC bingo.
On Wednesday, we focused on the theme of last names. For start-up, we practiced tracing our last names. For morning centers, we did a worksheet all about our last names, did the Ll says /l/ cutting page, rainbow wrote our last names, and worked on our last names in a book. In the afternoon, we had specials with all four all-day teachers. At the end of the day, we finished up our name book and the ABC sequencing from Tuesday.
On Thursday, we focused on the theme of love letters. For start-up, we practiced tracing/writing our full names. For morning art, we did a “Love You to Pieces” craft. For afternoon centers, we rolled a die and traced that letter the number corresponded to, did a “Deliver the Letter” worksheet, wrote letters to the new students of ABC Christian, and hole punched by finding the letters Dd, Hh, Ll, and Vv. At the end of the day, we did letters write the room game and practiced writing our letters.
