This week we learned the letter H. Tuesday was Happy Hearts day. We started the day writing our first and last names. In centers, we wrote upper and lowercase H, put alphabet heart cards in order, wrote the number that comes in between 2 numbers, and made heart shapes with tangrams. For art, we made hearts by painting with cotton balls and clothespins. We also put hearts on H and made heart letter cards. At the end of the day, we had chapel and sang songs to God.
Wednesday was Crazy hair and hat day. It was also Sofia’s birthday! We started the day playing with toys. We had Specials and learned about Zoophonics letters and sounds. We also learned some Spanish. In centers, we made our own hairstyles and cut paper hair. We also made winter hats and played with Play-Doh hair. At the end of the day we had story time.
Thursday was Home Sweet Home day. We started the day reading books. In morning centers, we wrote our phone numbers and dialed them on a door phone and a real cellphone. We also matched lowercase keys to uppercase letter houses and made a shape house. In afternoon centers, we did our H cutting page, H sound house page, found all the H’s, and played with magnets. At the end of the day, we did makeup work from the week and played with our friends.
