This week we learned about the letter D. Tuesday was Dazzling Dentist day. We started the day coloring a tooth. In centers, we wrote upper and lowercase D, played a toothy letter match game, played a roll and color teeth game, and cut and glued things that are good and bad for our teeth. We also got to play dentist with Play-Doh. For art, we brush a tooth with toothbrushes, paint, and glitter. Then we did a healthy teeth color sort. We had big room and played with our friends. To end the day, we played a riddle game and had story time.
Wednesday was our first of our double dinosaur days. We started the day writing our names and numbers in our quick kits. We had specials and for Phonics we learned our new letter D, our animal, sound, and motion. We practiced our song and watch a funny phonics video. For centers, we play dominoes, did our D cutting page, made a dinosaur counting book, and played the alligator teeth game. Then we had big room and then we put our dinosaur eggs in water so they could hatch. We played with friends to end our day.
Thursday was Dinosaur day. We started the day playing toys with friends. In morning centers, we did our D letter review page, played a D spin and cover, measured dinosaurs, and made our dinosaur headbands. These always turn out so cute and the kids love them! In afternoon centers, we wrote about our pet dinosaurs, found D’s, traced diamonds, played a dinosaur math game, and hatched clean and measured our dinosaurs. To end the day, we did makeup work and played with our friends.
See you next week for Dr. Seuss, and we will be learning the letter E with elephants and eggs.
