This week we focused on the letter Ww. We talked about the sound the letter Ww makes and words that begin with the letter Ww.

On Tuesday, we had an e-learning day. I hope most of you had a chance to get on Google Classroom and do some of the activities. Alos, I hope you all stayed nice and warm!!!!!

On Wednesday, we focused on the theme of watermelons. For morning centers, we worked on winter patterning, we practiced our cutting by making a “W’ watermelon activity, practiced tracing/writing the letter Ww, and did a watermelon push pin activity. For afternoon centers, we rotated through learning centers while I called them up to ask them their letter and number recognition. At the end of the day, we did our January monthly writing/coloring page. We also read some books with a winter theme.

On Thursday, we focused on the theme of winter weather. For morning art, we traced our hand and made a winter, polar bear art project. For afternoon, centers, we matched dice/dots with the correct number on the snowman’s hat, did our the Ww says /w/ page, matched the lowercase and uppercase ABCs and beginning sounds, and worked through a weather activity book. At the end of the day, we worked through sensory type centers while I evaluated the kids on their letter sounds. We also read books on winter weather.

This Friday, January 26th, are parent/teacher conferences. I see most of you signed up for either an in-person conference or a phone conference. I will be contacting those of you that cannot make either on that day to set-up a time that we can talk.

Until next week,

Mrs. Brandi
