Hi Parents,
We had a great week learning about the letter Ss. Here’s a snapshot…
Since Tuesday was an ELearning day, I switched up our themes and did more of a general ‘S’ theme for our google classroom. Thank you to all that logged on and did the work on our page. The kids were excited about their work and proud to show me what they did for their prize!
On Wednesday I switched our theme to ‘Superheroes’ since it’s one of my favorites. In morning centers, the kids built towers with Duplo blocks for superhero figures, they worked on a creative writing about their own superpowers, they colored and cut out their own superhero mask, and they worked on their S page. In afternoon centers, the kids cut out shapes to make a superhero, and they colored themselves as a superhero, which was part of our art project. For art, the kids painted a city background with watercolor paint. I’ll cut a line in the sky so their superhero can ‘fly’ through the sky. I’ll post pictures on GroupMe once these are finished!
On Thursday our theme was ‘Snowman.’ In morning centers the kids counted buttons on to a snowman with a number on his hat, they built a snowman with play-doh (I posted pictures on GroupMe), they painted a snowman do-a-dot, and they cut and glued shapes to ‘build’ a snowman. In afternoon centers the kids colored and cut out a snowman, they finished their snowman shapes, and they built with blocks. We ended the day with toys.
Thank you to everyone that came for conferences, it was lovely to talk to all of you. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
Next week we will talk about the letter Xx. Looking forward to it!
Take Care,
Missy
