This week we learned about the letter S. Tuesday was Snowman day. We started the day coloring a snowman. In centers, we did a snowman follow directions page, counted which one was more snowflakes in snow globes, played a snowman counting game, and wrote upper and lowercase S in a quick kit. For art, we made a winter tree with fingerprints and sponges. Then we made superhero S’s. We had big room and played the riddle game next. We ended the day playing toys with friends.
Wednesday was sports day. We started the day playing toys with friends. We had Specials and for Phonics we learned about the letter S, did our video, and played Zoo phonics charades. In centers, we wrote S, found S, did our S cutting page, played ISPY sports, and ordered snowmen by size. Then we had big room and did some more mid-year evaluations.
Thursday was superhero day. We started the day writing our names and numbers. In morning centers, we wrote about being a superhero, played Spiderman match game, counted gems to put onto a Spiderman web counting mat, and put stars on S. In afternoon centers, we played the sandwich game, constructed things with the straw construction kit, did a superhero color by number, and made our own superhero masks. We ended the day playing with friends and doing more mid-year evaluations.
