This week, we wrapped up the month of January, & welcomed February,  focusing on the star shape & the #6

 

Books we read:

How to Catch A Star

I Love You As Big As the World

 

Centers this week:

We stuck star stickers on star shapes

We colored our Star Light, Star Bright Nursery Rhyme page

We counted and colored stars

We wrapped stars in yarn for a fun fine motor project

We picked stars out of a fun “light up” sensory bin

We  did a #6 worksheet, sticking on 6 stickers, stamping 6 stamps, and practicing to write the #6

We used linking chains for fine motor practice

We did an upper/lowercase  ABC magnet match on the white board

We did 1:1 correspondence activity, using ice cream manipulatives 

We did a #6 maze, where we had to find the #6 among other numbers & color it in to complete the maze

 

ART/Other:

We did marble paint rolling on a star

We made a cute Valentine’s Day gluing project

We also did our monthly handwriting and coloring sample
