Welcome back & happy new year! We had a great first week back. I was happily shocked that the transition went so well. Two weeks away is a long time, but the kids seemed to fall right back into the routine. So proud of them 🙂
This week, we focused on the letter X & started our evaluating for mid-year progress reports.
Books we read:
Bear’s First Winter
We’re Going on a Treasure Hunt
Centers:
We practiced our fine motor by putting together shape chain links
We practiced writing/tracing our names
We built with unifix cubes & legos
We did a Candy Land shape matching game
We practiced cutting
We used mini peg boards to make the letter X
We used magnetic bingo chips to form the letter X & used our “magic wands” to pick them up
We used magnets on the white board to make giant letter X’s
We did our Xx ABC page
During Big Room time, everybody got a pair of binoculars & we did an “X Marks the Spot” hunt. The kids loved it!
We also evaluated things this week such a pencil grip, cutting, alphabet recognition, shapes. & colors & more.

La Quesadilla night is this Thursday, January 15th. This is an all day fundraiser, so ABC will get a portion of the proceeds no matter what time you go. Some ABC staff will be there after school hours & we’d love to see you!
