This week we focused on the letter Gg.

On Tuesday, we focused on the theme of “Growing Gardens”. For morning centers, we built a flower by number matching, did the Gg says /g/ page, matched ABCs with a sunflower theme, and put the correct number of beads matching what the flower theme said. For afternoon centers, we traced/wrote the letter Gg, measured flowers with unifix cubes, made numbers out of pop-its, and played a rhyming matching game. At the end of the day, we colored our March monthly coloring page.

On Wednesday, we focused on the theme of gumballs. For morning centers, we did a gumball “which has more or less in the gumball machine” quick kit, matched the number of unifix cube to the number on the rainbow tower, played a gumball themed beginning sounds game, and put magnets on a Gg is for gumball page. In the afternoon, we had specials with all four all-day teachers. At the end of the day, we learned about the life cycle of a sunflower.

On Thursday, we focused on the theme of St. Patrick’s Day. In the morning, we planted grass seed so we could observe while the grass seed grows. For afternoon centers, we matched ten frames, colored a St. Patty’s Day color by number, played a lucky letters game, and patterned with linking chains. At the end of the day, we did a St. Patty’s Day count the room.

Until next week,
