This week we focused on the letter Ee. We talked about the sound the letter Ee makes and words that begin with the letter Ee. We came up with egg, eagle, elbow, emotion, and elephant.

On Tuesday, we focused on the theme of elephants. For start-up, we practiced tracing/writing our addresses and phone numbers. We read the book Elmer the Elephant. For morning centers, we rolled dice and added one and subtracted one from the number we rolled, did our Ee says /e/ page, matched upper- and lower-case ABCs and “fed them to the elephant, and colored an elephant color by number. For afternoon centers, we traced/wrote the letter Ee, put magnets on an” Ee is for Elephant” page, put together tanagram puzzles, and did a Ee letter review page. At the end of the day, we had fun working on a ten frame write the room in the foyer.

On Wednesday, we focused on the theme of “All About Emotions and Emojis”. For start-up, we traced/wrote the numbers 11-20. For morning centers, we made ten frames with emojis, played an I-Spy emoji game, did a “My Feelings Book”, and played an emotion memory game. In the afternoon, we had specials with all four all-day teachers. At the end of the day, we finished up our “My Feelings Book”.

On Thursday, we focused on Ee is for Egg/Humpty Dumpty. For morning art, we sponge painted “Elmer the Elephant”. In the afternoon, we worked on a Humpty Dumpty egg project. We put Humpty Dumpty back together again!!!! At the end of the day, we had fun predicting if the egg would break using multiple things in plastic baggies. We used cotton balls, paper towel, rocks, paper clips, tin foil, and shaving cream. All of our eggs ending up breaking!! Boo!!!!

Until next week,
