Hi Parents,

I didn’t post last week because I was out all week for a family emergency. The kids had a great week with Mrs. Kim.  Thank you for your patience and  understanding.

This week we learned about the letter Gg. Here is a snapshot…

On Tuesday we had grandparents day.   What a fun day! We are thrilled that we can host such a special event for the grandparents and students. Ask them what songs they sang on stage!

On Wednesday our theme was ‘Goodnite Gorilla.’ In morning centers, the kids measured flowers with unifix cubes, they matched the correct color key to the same color cage from the book “Goodnite Gorilla.” They also matched, cut and glued animals, and played with zoo animals in kinetic sand. In afternoon centers, the kids matched, cut and glued animal shadows, they colored houses for their grass that we planted, and they played with regular sand and scoopers. Art was part of our centers too and the kids had the chance to sponge paint Elmer, who is a colorful elephant from a book we read. We ended the day playing with toys.

On Thursday our theme was ‘Growing Gardens.’ In morning centers, the kids counted beads on to the stems (pipe cleaners) of flowers that had numbers on them, they matched upper and lowercase letters, they played with a kinetic sand and flower kit, and they did some spring graphing. In afternoon centers, the kids cut and glued grass and flowers and we also planted our grass seed in front of our houses we colored Wednesday. I posted pictures of these on GroupMe! We ended the day by doing ‘Hey riddle riddle’ with the letter G. I read a riddle and the kids have to figure out which picture that starts with G the riddle is talking about. It’s a fun way to end the day!

Have a wonderful spring break and we will see you in April!

Take Care,

Missy
