This week we learned about the letter E and celebrated Dr. Seuss! Tuesday was Dr. Seuss day. We started the day reading some Dr. Seuss books. After circle time, we read Green Eggs and Ham. In centers, we did a green eggs and ham writing page, a rhyming puzzle, and read Dr. Seuss books. We also traced our hand and cut to make Things from Cat and the Hat. After lunch and recess, we got to eat Green Eggs and Ham! Most of the kids loved it but some did not. Then we made green eggs and ham craft. We got to play in the big room with friends and read Cat and the Hat story to end our day.

Wednesday was E is for elephant day. We started the day coloring an elephant. We had specials and for Phonics we learned about our new letter E, the sound and motion for Ellie Elephant. For afternoon centers, we wrote upper and lowercase E, found all the E’s, did a dot to dot elephant, made an elephant count book, and played with elephant magnets. To end the day we played with friends and did some makeup work.

Thursday was an exciting Egg-speriments day. We started the day writing our names and numbers in our quick kits. For morning centers, we did a spin and cover E game, did our E cutting page, made eggs with Play-Doh to put into 15 and 16 nests, and did a cutting egg project where we put the egg back together and added band aids. In afternoon centers, we did our E letter review page, played a roll and cover Humpty Dumpty wall, made egg patterns, and made our predictions for our egg experiment. After big room, we got to join the other classes for our Egg-speriments. The kids always love this! A teacher drops eggs wrapped in different materials to see if they will break or not. We had all the eggs break except for the one wrapped in tin foil!

See you next week for U week, underwater adventures, up day, and unicorns and umbrellas 🙂
