Tuesday was Dr. Seuss day to celebrate his birthday. We started the day coloring a Dr. Seuss page. In circle time, we read some Dr. Seuss books. For centers, we did a green eggs and ham writing activity about what we would eat and where, we made a rhyming hat, played a dinosaur math game, and played with our first dominoes. In afternoon centers, we made Things 1-14 by tracing our hands and cutting them out for Thing’s hair, we did a write the room, played real dominoes, and did a rhyming puzzle. At the end of the day, we got to eat real green eggs and ham! The kids loved this and most of them enjoyed eating them 🙂 We voted at the end of the day, and yes won!

Wednesday was E is for elephant day. We started the day coloring an elephant. In centers, we practiced writing upper and lowercase E, did our E cutting page, made an elephant count book, found all the E’s, and traced diamonds. For Specials, we practiced our letter sounds and animal motions for our Zoo phonics. At the end of the day, we got to play and finish any makeup work. Then we had story time.

Thursday was Humpty Dumpty day. We started the day reading books with friends. In circle time, we recited the Humpty Dumpty rhyme. In centers, we did our E letter review page, played an E spin and cover game, did egg ten frames, and did a Humpty Dumpty sequencing page. In afternoon centers, we played a Humpty Dumpty wall numbers game, did an egg puzzle and fixed the cracks with band aids, put eyes on E, and did E magnets. At the end of the day, we went to the foyer and played hey riddle riddle with the letter E. The kids always love this game! We ended the day with some stories.
