This week we focused on the letter Nn. We learned what sound the letter Nn makes.

On Tuesday, we worked on things around noodles. For morning centers, we counted out noodles in a muffin tin, did the Nn says /n/ page, traced/wrote the letter Nn and made noodle necklaces. For afternoon centers, we did a find the letter Nn page, glued noodles to make our name, laced with ABCs, and did a Nn worksheet. Also in the afternoon, before we went home, we worked on our letter recognition by playing ABC Bingo.

On Wednesday, we focused on our numbers 1-20. For morning centers, we made ten frames with playdoh, wrote our numbers with salt trays, made our numbers with snap cubes, and used clothespins with number to dot clip cards. In the afternoon, we had specials with all four all-day teachers. We finished out the day by working on our numbers with Numbers Bingo.

On Thursday, we worked on centers with our names. For morning centers, we played a game counting pretend candy corn, started our pumpkin name craft, rainbow wrote our names, practiced tracing/writing our names. For afternoon centers, we finished our pumpkin name craft, used magnets to match our ABCs, made letters out of noodles, and worked together on putting together four-letter puzzles. We finished the day by play and ABC, I have…/Who has… game. We also had chapel. We learned about packing the shoeboxes we are going to pack this week for Operation Christmas Child. Thank you to all of you that donated to this!!! It is very much appreciated.

As you can see, we are very busy during the day after you add in big room times, lunch and recess.

Please keep working with your child on their name writing. You can also work on cutting and number/ABC recognition at home. The kids are pretty good at shape and color recognition, but you can always hit on these too.

Thank you for all you do at home!!!

Until next week,

Mrs. Brandi
