Hi Parents,

We had a great week learning about the letter Z! Here’s a snapshot…

On Tuesday our theme was Zoo. In morning centers, the kids worked on graphing with zoo animals, they completed zoo animal patterns, and they did a creative writing activity about what animal they would want to be at the zoo. In afternoon centers, the kids made cages for zoo animals with popsicle sticks and kinetic sand, they made a zoo animal with stickers, and they worked on a very special Christmas gift for you. We ended the day by finishing up some work from earlier in the day and week and played with toys.

On Wednesday our theme was zig zags and zippers. In morning centers, the kids played a numbers board game, they cut and glued zippers on a Z, and they traced zig zags and letters with dry erase markers. During afternoon centers, the kids played with magnets and connecting sticks and finished a Christmas craft for you. We ended the day by practicing zipping coats and then attending chapel. The kids learned about the story of Jesus, ask them about it!

On Thursday our theme was Zebras. In morning centers, the kids rolled the dice and fed a ‘zebra’ pom poms with tweezers, they made a zebra out of the letter Z, and they practiced writing the letter Z. In afternoon centers, the kids used kinetic sand with zoo animals, built with magnetic blocks, and once again worked on a very special Christmas gift for you! We ended the day with art. The kids painted wooden ornaments for you for Christmas.

I can’t believe it’s December already! Next week we will talk about the letter J. Looking forward to it!

Take Care,

Missy
