This week we focused on the letter Zz. We talked about the sound the letter Zz makes and some words that begin with the letter Zz sound.

On Tuesday, we focused on the theme of zoo. For morning centers, we did zoo animal tanagrams, did our the Zz says /z/ page, favorite zoo animal creative writing, and ABC matching with a zoo theme. For afternoon centers, we traced/wrote the letter Zz, did a Zz letter find, played a zoo themed I-spy, and did a zoo pattern worksheet. At the end of the day, we were busy making “surprises”!!!!!

On Wednesday, we focused on the theme of zig zag and zippers. For morning centers, we linked linking chains together by following what the card said, did a Zz is for zipper activity, did a Zz letter review page and, worked through a maze by finding the letter Zz. In the afternoon, we worked on more “surprises”.  At the end of the day, we also worked on more “surprises”.

On Thursday, we focused on Zeke the Zebra. For morning art, worked on more “surprises”. For afternoon centers, we worked on a zoo animal color-by-number, played with zoo animals and kinetic sand, put together zoo puzzles, and cut out the letter Z for a zebra craft. At the end of the day, we finished our Z is for zebra craft.

This month is going to be very busy with working on the “surprises” and practicing for the Christmas play!!!!

Please have your child practice putting on their own coats and trying to zip them up themselves. I will be there to help them, but this is a skill they need to learn before kindergarten.

Until next week,

Mrs. Brandi
