Hi Parents,

We had a great week kicking off the Holiday season! Here is a snapshot…

On Tuesday in morning centers the kids practiced cutting zig zags, waves and scallops, they made their name with light bulbs (green and red paper), and they used pop it 10 frames. In afternoon centers the kids used magna tiles, made shapes with kinetic sand, and worked on some extra special projects that you will see in a few weeks! We ended the day by doing a ‘write the room’ with gingerbread man faces. The kids had to find each face and write the word written underneath (happy, sad, silly, etc.) on the paper on their clipboard. This type of activity is always a great challenge for the kids and helps them practice forming letters, finding numbers, and following directions!

On Wednesday in centers the kids stacked cups in a pyramid following an instruction card. The cups had dots on them, and the instruction card had numbers so the kids have to count to find the right cup. They also, made letters on geo boards and worked on a rectangle and square worksheet with colored markers. In the afternoon the kids rotated through specials learning Spanish, sign language, zoo phonics, and science/math. We ended the day with some fun play centers while we also finished our name light bulbs.

On Thursday in morning centers the kids played a roll and collect game. They rolled the dice and moved to a space, then collected the number of unifix cubes written on the space. They also worked on a color by number and sorted shapes into bins. In afternoon centers the kids used kinetic sand, built with LEGO’s, made patterns with pattern bears, and finished the mornings color by number. We ended the day with art. You will get to see what they made in a few weeks!

Next week we will look at the letter J. Looking forward to it!

Take Care,

Missy
