This week we focused on “Kicking off the Holiday Season”. We did some review of the November basics and worked on some Christmas theme activities.

On Tuesday, we started off the day by practicing tracing/writing our first and last names. For morning centers, we made our numbers out of snap cubes, practicing cutting scalloped and zig zag lines, worked on putting together four-letter puzzles, and linked together linking chains to match the card we picked. For afternoon centers, we made ten frames out of play doh, matched upper and lower ABCs/beginning sound objects, counted for our mid-year evaluation, and built with Legos. At the end of the day, we started on our Christmas ornaments.

On Wednesday, we started off the day by practicing tracing our numbers 1-20. For morning centers, we made ten frames with ten frame pop-its, cut and sorted Christmas trees shortest to tallest, made our letters with a letter construction pieces, and put pom poms in bottles with tweezers. In the afternoon, we had specials with the four all-day teachers. At the end of the day, we worked on more Christmas ornaments.

On Thursday, we started the day by working on trying to write our names without a prompt. For morning art, we worked on Christmas ornaments. For afternoon centers, we made our numbers out of play doh on Christmas tree mats, made our ABCs with pop it squares, matched our upper and lower ABCs with a reindeer theme, and used a push pin to make a Christmas tree. At the end of the day, we did some more mid-year evaluating.

Until next week,
