This week we learned about the letter N. We started off Tuesday with Noodle Necklace day. We also celebrated Lucy’s birthday. We started the day reading books with friends. In morning centers, we practiced writing upper and lowercase N, did our N cutting page, counted colored noodles with number cards, and made our own noodle necklaces! For art, we did some noodle art. We used colored noodles to make flowers. Then we packed our shoe boxes for kids in need. The kids had so much fun putting all of these items in the boxes. Then we prayed over them together before bringing them into the chapel. At the end of the day, we did some makeup work and played with our friends.
Wednesday was Numbers day. We started the day by tracing numbers. In Specials, we learned our new Zoo phonics animal, Nigel Night owl with his motion and sound. We watched our Zoo phonics video and played charades with our animal cards. In afternoon centers, we did a number pop it and traced numbers, did our N letter review page, played Numbers Bingo, and made N on our geo boards. At the end of the day, we had chapel and talked about where our shoe boxes are going and who they are going to. The kids were surprised to find out that they will be traveling by boat to kids that need them.
Thursday was Names Day. We started the day playing toys with friends. In morning centers, we wrote our names on our writing tablets, started our name books, found all the upper and lowercase N’s, and made tissue paper letters that start with our names. In afternoon centers, we did a name page about how many letters are in our name, finished our name books, wrote our names and numbers on the big board, and used tweezers to put small erasers on our names. At the end of the day, we had story time and finished up our work from the week.
See you next week for T week! Turkeys, triangles, transportation, and our thankful day. We will also wear brown to school.
