This week was T week. We started the week with Turkey Tuesday. We celebrated Raaya’s birthday. For morning work, we practiced writing our names and numbers. In morning centers, we wrote our thankful feathers, practiced writing upper and lowercase T, played a turkey trot game, and cut and glued T’s onto turkeys. For art, we made our Thankful turkeys. These are hanging in the big room so check them out at our Thanksgiving party. After art, we wrote about how we would cook a turkey. These are so funny and I hope you thought so too when you read them! We also counted turkey feathers and turkeys on a fence at the end of the day.
Wednesday was triangles and transportation day. We started the day reading books. In Specials, we learned our new Zoo phonics animal, Timothy Tiger. We watched a video and played charades. In afternoon centers, we did our T cutting page, connected the dots to make a T, did transportation patterns, and played with toy cars on different shape roads. At the end of the day, we listened to music and did our November coloring and writing sample.
We ended the week with a Thankful Thursday. We started the day coloring a turkey. In morning centers, we did our T letter review page, found all the T’s, counted how many Thanksgiving objects, and played a toy. In afternoon centers, we wrote the word turkey and colored the feathers the correct color, drew feathers on turkeys, and did Thanksgiving patterns. At the end of the day, we made our gratitude bracelets. Each color bead represents something or someone they are thankful for.
See you next week for our Thanksgiving party on Tuesday and enjoy your break the rest of the week!
