This week was Z week. Tuesday we started the week with Zoo Madness. We colored a zoo page in the morning. In morning centers, we practiced writing upper and lowercase Z, wrote about what animal we would be in the zoo, made a zoo counting book, and played with zoo animals. For art, we cut out zig zags and put them on the letter Z. We used paint dotters to add dots to animals with different numbers on their heads and did a lion color by number. At the end of the day, we had big room and did some makeup work and played.
Wednesday was zigzags and zippers day. We started the day playing with toys with friends. For specials we learned our new Zoo phonics animal motion and sound for Zeke Zebra. We played charades to help us learn other letters of the alphabet too. In afternoon centers, we traced zig zags, cut zig zags, made a zoo animals book, and made Z’s on geo boards. We also practiced zipping zippers. Most of the kids in the class learned to zip or could zip before, so I’m happy about that! At the end of the day, we found Z’s and played with our friends.
Thursday was Zeke Zebra day. We started the day writing our first names. In morning centers, we wrote about our favorite Zoo phonics animal, did our Z cutting page, counted animals and wrote numbers, and did a zoo maze to find the zebra. In afternoon centers, we did our Z letter review page and did a zoo animal patterns page. At the end of the day, we had big room and finished any makeup work. Thank you to all that came out to Culver’s!
See you next week for N week, noodles, numbers, and names 🙂
