Hi Parents,
We had a great week learning about the letter Pp. Here is a snap shot…
On Tuesday our theme was ‘pizza.’ In morning centers the kids made pretend pizzas by following a recipe and counting toppings on to a pizza crust (felt), they worked on a pizza themed color by number, they cut and glued their P page, and they played with kinetic sand and picture stampers. In afternoon centers the kids finished their pizza color by number, built with magnetic blocks, and made letters with large plastic pieces. After our extra big room time with toys, the kids made pretend pizzas on a plate. They colored the plate red and then cut out all of the toppings and glued them on the pizza. They are getting so good at cutting already!
On Wednesday our theme was ‘PJ’s and Popcorn.’ In the morning the kids rotated through specials with all of the teachers, learning zoo phonics, sign language, Spanish and science. Before lunch the kids worked on a following directions activity. We do this activity in October and May to see the difference in their listening skills! In the afternoon the kids watched Spookley the Square Pumpkin and we ended our day with art. The kids painted a picture of a pumpkin. Next week they will cut out the pumpkin and a face and turn it into a jack-o-lantern.
On Thursday we had our pumpkin patch field trip! We hope everyone had a great time, it was definitely a beautiful day!!
Next week we will learn about the letter Rr. Looking forward to it!
