This week we focused on the letter Pp. we talked about the sound the letter Pp makes and words that begin with the letter Pp. We came up with pumpkin, penguin, pizza, popcorn and pirate.
On Tuesday, we focused on the theme of pizza. For start-up, we colored a Pp page while we waited for our friends to arrive. For morning centers, we played a pizza recipe game, practiced our letter matching with a pizza theme, did a “My favorite pizza…” creative writing, and traced/wrote the letter Pp. After lunch we worked on, the Pp says/p/ page and colored a pizza color-by-number. We also read some books that had a pizza theme to them.
On Wednesday, it was pajama day!!!! For start-up, we continued to color our Pp page while we waited for our friends to arrive. In the morning, we had specials by rotating between the five all-day teachers. After specials, we went into our centers. We made ten frames out of pop-its, made Halloween cut-outs with Play-Doh, found our letter Pp by doing a maze and letter find, and cut out our lily pad for our directed drawing frog that we did last week. In the afternoon, we watched the Spookley movie and had Pirate’s Booty puffcorn.
On Thursday, we had our field trip to the pumpkin patch. It was a beautiful day!!!! It was so nice to see all of you there having a great time!!!! Glad you all were able to make it!!!
