This week we focused on the letter Pp. We talked about the sound the letter Pp makes and words that begin with the letter Pp. We came up with penguin, pumpkin, party, popcorn and pjs.
On Tuesday, we focused on the theme of pumpkins. For morning centers, we put the number of pumpkin seeds on the correct pumpkin card, decorated mini pumpkins, played a pumpkin letter find game, and linked linking chains with the number of a pumpkin. For afternoon centers, we built with magnet building sticks, traced/wrote the letter Pp, finished our owl craft from art last week, and built with Legos. At the end of the day, we did a pumpkin directed drawing.
On Wednesday, we had our Harvest party. We also focused more on the theme of pumpkins. For morning centers, we put the right ten frame on the pumpkin number, played with Play-Doh and Halloween mats, matched upper and lower-case ABCs with a pumpkin theme, and did a pumpkin push pin art. For afternoon centers, we made pumpkins with kinetic sand, finished the pumpkin push pin art, played with magnet sticks and put together tanagram puzzles. At the end of the day, we had fun at our Harvest party!!!!
On Thursday, we focused on popcorn & pjs. For morning centers, we made numbers with pop-its, patterned with linking chain cards, played the popcorn ABC game, and built pumpkins with Brain Flakes. In the afternoon, we got to watch Spookley, the Square Pumpkin and eat popcorn (Pirates Booty). We had a great time watching the movie with the other all-day classes!!!!
