This week we focused on the letter Pp. we talked about the sound the Pp makes and words that start with the letter Pp. We came up with pizza, popcorn, pumpkin, pink, purple, party, and puppy.

On Tuesday, we focused on the theme of a pretend pizza party. For morning centers, we used number recipe cards to make a “pretend pizza”, did the Pp says /p/ cutting page, did a pizza creative writing page, and sorted pom poms with tweezers. For afternoon centers, we made our ABCs with pop-its, traced/wrote the letter Pp, colored a pizza color-by-number page, and finished our owl craft from last Thursday. Also, in the afternoon, we played Color/Shape Bingo.

On Wednesday, we focused on the theme of pumpkins. for morning centers, we put the correct number of pumpkin seeds on pumpkin numbered cards, did a pumpkin number to dot correspondence, matched upper-case and lower-case pumpkin themed ABCs, and linked linking chains together with the correct number on the pumpkin. In the afternoon, we decorated our mini pumpkins and talked about how to observe a pumpkin. we also had our Harvest party. We had a great time!!!

On Thursday, we also focused on more of the pumpkin theme and Spookley the Square Pumpkin. For morning centers, we rolled a dice and counted one more and one less from the number we rolled, used playdoh to make Halloween scenes, played and ABC popcorn game and used a push pin to make a pumpkin. For afternoon centers, did tanagram puzzles, did a Spookley craft, finished our push pin pumpkins, and made things out of the Brain Flakes blocks. Also, in the afternoon, we watched Spookley the Square Pumpkin and ate popcorn.
