This week was a review week. We talked a little more about the letter Pp, reviewed our shapes and colors.

On Tuesday, we focused on the theme of pretend pizza. For morning centers, we made a pretend pizza by following recipe cards, did the Pp says /p/ page, did a pizza creative writing activity, and made ABCs out of pop-its. For afternoon centers, we traced/wrote the letter Pp, colored a pizza themed color-by-number, matched the uppercase and lower-case ABCs with a pizza theme, and played with magnets. At the end of the day, we did our October monthly coloring and writing page.

On Wednesday, we focused on the theme of shapes. We reviewed all of our shapes. For morning centers, we made shapes with the geoboards, used a paperclip and magnet wand to trace shape themed roads, matched the shaped with clip cards, and made shapes with Play-Doh shape mats. In the afternoon, we had specials with all four all-day teachers. At the end of the day, we played a shape “I Have….  Who has…” game.

On Thursday, we focused on the theme of colors. We reviewed all of the colors. For morning art, we made our very own shape pizzas. For afternoon centers, we put together color puzzles, matched colored beads to the right colored pipe cleaner, played a roll and color shape game, and sorted colored pom poms with tweezers and put them in the right colored canister. At the end of the day, we played color/shape bingo. We also had chapel before we went home.

This week and for the next couple of months, we will have the second lunch. We do this so the kids get to hang out with different kiddos.

This week I was on vacation. I was in touch with Mrs. Laura and she said the kids did great!!!!

Until next week,
