This week we learned about the letter Ff. we talked about the sound the letter Ff makes and words that begin with the letter Ff. We came up with frog, farm, five, four, and fox.

On Tuesday, we focused on the theme of frogs. For morning centers, we made our numbers out of playdoh with frog themed mats, did our the Ff says/f/ cutting page, matched upper and lower-case ABCs with frogs and lily pads, and used tweezers to feed the frog the correct number of bugs. For afternoon centers, we made our ABCS with sand boxes, did an alphabet magnet matching activity, traced/wrote the letter FF, and laced with beads. At the end of the day, we drew a frog by following directions. We also read the book Froggy Gets a Doggy.

On Wednesday, we focused on the theme of farm. For morning centers, we counted out the correct number of corn pieces that was on the corn picking card, did an Itsy, Bitsy Spider sequencing page, did our Ff maze page, and copied the farm fencing cards to make the fence with colored popsicle sticks. In the afternoon, we started specials with all four all-day teachers. At the end of the day, we read more farm books.

On Thursday, we focused more on the theme of farm. For morning art, we painted our hand to make a cow for our “Down at the ABC Farm” wall. For afternoon centers, we played a Farm I-Spy game, played with farm animals and kinetic sand, matched upper and lower-case ABCS with a tractor theme, and colored a color by letter farm coloring page. At the end of the day, we colored our farm following direction page. We also read the book No Sleep for the Sheep!!!!

Until next week,
