This week we talked about the letter Rr and the sound that letter Rr makes.

Our themes this week are Robots & Rectangles, Rockets and Rainbows.
On Tuesday, we focused on the theme of robots & rectangles. For morning centers, we matched “robot gears” with the correct number card, cut and pasted a rectangle robot craft, traced/wrote the letter Rr, and measured robots with unifix cubes. For afternoon centers, we made robots out of playdoh & robot playdoh mats, made robots out of tangram puzzles, made rectangles with geoboards and played a” roll a robot” game. At the end of the day, we traced and colored a robot.
On Wednesday, we focused on the theme of rockets. For morning centers, we subitize number matching rockets, cut and paste the Rr says /r/ page, match upper and lowercase ABCs rockets and traced our ABCs with a rocket themed worksheet. In the afternoon, we had specials with the four all-day teachers. Also, we played a group activity where we answered Rr riddles with the picture.
On Thursday, we focused on the theme of rainbows. In the morning, for art, we made an R rainbow craft with cotton balls and Fruit Loops. For centers in the afternoon, made towers with the correct number of cubes with a rainbow number mat, played in a space/rocket sensory bin, wrote our names on rainbow colored strips and pasted on a cloud, and rainbow wrote the letter R. Also in the afternoon, we did an ABC, rainbow themed “write the room” with Mrs. Brenda’s class.
