Mrs. Kelli’s Preschool Classroom

This week, we focused on the color orange & went to the Pumpkin Patch!

Books we read:

Pumpkin Trouble

Centers this week:

We mixed yellow & red water with eye droppers to make the color orange

We had fun picking pumpkins out of an orange sensory bin

We colored different sized & shaped pumpkins

We did a color sort, using tweezers & picking up pom poms

We decorated mini pumpkins

We cut orange play doh with scissors

We colored a picture of a jack o’lantern

We practiced tracing/writing our names

We matched our ABC’s on the magnet board

We counted to 2, using jewels

In art time, we did our farm following directions project.  We do this twice per year to test color recognition & your child’s ability to follow a given direction.  We will do this again in May to compare!

Important Notes:

We had a FANTASTIC turnout at our Culver’s fundraiser! We are so very appreciative of our ABC families for supporting us this way .  It was so nice to see you there & get to chat outside of school.  Thank you SO MUCH!

Out Kregel’s Pumpkin Patch field trip was so much fun!  We are so thankful for the good weather & hope that everyone had as much fun as we did!

Remember-next week, we are having our Harvest Parties!  Please drop your child off at the REGULAR school time IN COSTUME.  If possible, please have them use the potty at home prior to going to school.  We are hoping to take them to the potty on as “as needed” basis that day, as costumes can be a challenge to get up & down.  Thank you! All parents are welcome to come to the party, even if you weren’t specifically asked to be a “helper”.  You should have received a note home letting you know the specific time of your child’s party.

Until Next Week,

Mrs. Kelli
