This week was O week. We started the week with Observing the Outdoors and Brooks’ Birthday. Morning work was practicing writing our first names. We sang to the birthday boy at circle time. In morning centers, we wrote upper and lowercase O, started our colors of fall book, played a roll add and color game, and did an opposites puzzle. For art, we did cotton ball painting and made fall trees. Then we listened to music and did our October writing and coloring sample. We drew a picture of us at the pumpkin patch. After that we used paint dabbers to make a fall leaf and finished our colors of fall books. At the end of the day we took a nature walk outside and observed the outdoors. Then we had chapel and talked about planting seeds and telling people about God.
Wednesday was Opposites and Owls day. We started the day reading books. For Specials, we talked about our new Zoophonics animal, Olive Octopus and the motion and sound O makes. We also watched a couple videos to practice all the phonics sounds. In afternoon centers, we did our O cutting page, matched upper and lowercase owls on trees, found the big and small objects, and did another opposites puzzle. At the end of the day, we decorated our trick or treat bags with stickers so they are ready for our party next week.
Hope you are having a great Fall break! See you next week for our Harvest Party, wear orange, and Halloween 🙂
