We had a great week! Tuesday was our pretend pizza party. We started the day practicing writing our first names. In morning centers, we practiced writing O’s and P’s, played a letter leaves game, did a color by number, and a pop it game. In afternoon centers, we made a shape pizza, found beginning letter sounds, and played a princess bags game. For art, we made pretend pizzas with shapes. We ended the day with story time.
Wednesday was Super Shapes day. We started the day playing toys with our friends. In centers, we traced penguin shapes, did pop it letters, made a shapes puzzle, and made shapes bracelets. In specials, we practiced our letter sounds with Zoo Phonics. At the end of the day we played with friends in the big room and then went to the chapel to learn about Noah’s Ark.
Thursday was Creating Colors day. We started the day coloring school shoes. We listened to rocking in my school shoes Pete the Cat book. In morning centers, we wrote what color our school shoes are, found beginning letter sounds, sorted buttons by color. and played with play-doh. In afternoon centers, we played a color sorting card game, sorted bears by color and size, played with kinetic sand, and made shapes with Popsicle sticks. At the end of the day, we used paint to mix colors. This was fun because they told me colors and we made new colors. It was like magic!
